In 2020 the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München in collaboration with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic and the Bavarian State Spa Bad Reichenhall, Kur-GmbH Bad Reichenhall/Bayerisch Gmain is holding an International Summer School for the seventh time. This combines master classes given by leading international lecturers and an extensive programme of concerts with the unique flair of the spa town of Bad Reichenhall in the foothills of the Alps.

 

Located in an impressive landscape, Bad Reichenhall, with its royal spa gardens and magnificent concert halls, has a truly picturesque setting. The town also enjoys a long musical tradition, and with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic, has the only philharmonic spa orchestra in the whole of Germany. The International Summer School is held during the festival »AlpenKlassik« entirely devoted to classical music, in which lecturers and students take part in public chamber music concerts each evening. Due to the corona pandemic, the orchestra concerts that would otherwise be part of the International Summer School will probably not be able to take place in 2020.

 

The focus is on the intensive nurturing and development of students participating.

The International Summer School places the emphasis on quality, rather than quantity: it offers students four guaranteed hours (à 45 min) of individual tuition, the chance of participation in chamber concerts in the regular concert programme of the Bavarian State Spa Bad Reichenhall.

 

In 2020 instrumental tuition will be given on piano, flute, bassoon, violin, viola and cello.
